The science

The thinking behind the idea.

This page exists for people who want the detail. It is deliberately careful: it describes what we saw, what is generally understood, and what we are not yet in a position to claim.

CIRCA started as a question about behaviour, not a question about ingredients.

1. What the orders showed

We analysed 7,976 supplement orders from an Australian online retailer. For the 660 orders where line-item detail was available, we looked at which products were bought together in the same basket.

Among orders containing more than one product, the single most common pairing was a daytime fat burner together with a night-time sleep formula. We report this as a rank rather than a percentage because the number of multi-product orders with item detail is small, and we would rather under-claim than over-claim.

The dataset is a snapshot of one retailer's customers over roughly three years. It tells us what people were already trying to do. It does not tell us whether any product worked.

2. Why timing is the interesting variable

Most daytime energy products lean on caffeine. Caffeine's half-life in healthy adults is commonly cited in the range of four to six hours, with wide individual variation. In plain terms: a dose taken mid-morning can still be partly active in the evening for many people, and later for slow metabolisers.

That is the simple tension the two-part concept responds to. If the first half of the day is designed in isolation, it can quietly work against the second half. Designing both parts together lets the morning formula be more moderate, because it is not being asked to carry the whole day.

3. What we are not claiming

  • We are not claiming CIRCA causes weight loss, fat loss, better sleep or lower cortisol.
  • We have not run a trial. There are no customer results, ratings or testimonials to show you, and we will not invent any.
  • The formulations are not final. Ingredient panels and doses will be published before launch, after regulatory review.
  • Nothing here is medical advice. CIRCA is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.

4. What happens next

We are using the founding list to measure real interest before committing to manufacturing. If enough people want this built properly, the next steps are formulation sign-off, compliance review and a small, transparent first run. Founding-list members hear about each step first.
